    Family Day Report

Over 160 parents and children attended the Family Day at CALL. Everyone had the chance to try out a wide range of computer software, communication aids, adapted toys and lots of other equipment. The People Hunt and the Wheelchair Rides were particularly popular. The opportunity to chat informally with staff and share experiences and ideas with other families was appreciated.

In short, a fantastic day was had by all. With noises and bangs, touch screens and switches, painting software and quizzes, wheelchair rides and videos, lunch and chocolate there was something for everybody.

Everyone who came seemed to have a great time! The comments we had back included:

    • The day was well thought out and very interesting
    • Just a great day, thanks
    • Food great, very enjoyable day
    • Excellent day out, children loved everything, especially the music session.
    • Our time was limited but what we saw was excellent.
    • Our family have had a super day, thankyou.
    • How can you improve perfection? It was pitched at the right level not too technical so that parents could understand it and fun experiences for the children. Well done to the AAC crew. Good to see everyone involved. Plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Your enthusiasm never fails to amaze me. Suggest you do this on a yearly basis. [we do! -Ed]

The day was booked up quite a long time in advance, so contact us again soon to get your name on the list for next years event.
