    Talking Websites

The CALL Centre website can now be read using the browsealoud text-to-speech system. TextHelp Systems, the publishers of browsealoud, have kindly ‘speech-enabled’ our website for a trial period.

To have the site read out, you need to download bowsealoud, and install it on your computer (It only works on Windows PC’s at the moment).

Navigate to this site using Internet Explorer, and hover your mouse over some text for the speech to be read out to you. The text is highlighted as it is read. You can see this happening in the screen shot below (blue highlighting on a yellow background)
Screen shot of browsealoud in action.

If you have tried this out, or have any comments about any other aids to accessing websites, then please contact us and let us know how you got on.
